2010 - 2011 What it meant to me - MVK

Exodus 11:1 Now the Lord had said to Moses, “I will bring one more plague on Pharaoh and on Egypt. After that, he will let you go from here, and when he does, he will drive you out completely” [niv]

Last night was New Year’s Eve and the last day of the year 2010. To me as I stood at the treshold of the new year I could almost hear God say that 2010 and all its bad challenges was like the Pharaoh who had me bound under his cruel power and God was saying that the ‘passing over’ from 2010 to 2011 was like the exodus from Egypt and the beginning of a voyage to the promised land.

Yes 2011 like any other year shall definitely bring its own challenges but none of them shall be like the ones that I have already gone through in 2010 because the New Year is that totally different from the old one in this context.

There is a miracle of a release that God has done in my life last night and that will become evident as I approach the dawn of this New Year. I might actually be facing a wilderness but way far behind it there lays a breakthrough called Canaan land. The land that flows with milk and honey. I think that every child of God must look up to this year with a heart that is full of faith and great expectancy and this should be encouraged by the fact that the beginning and the end of anything has great significance in the lives of those living within the confines of that particular thing.

Therefore we need to rise up and be excited about what God is going to do in our lives this year. We need to tell ourselves and our loved ones that this was not just the end and the beginning of two seasons but it was also the end and the beginning of new lives. We have changed masters and our hearts are full of joy and excitement. We are in high spirits and our feet can hardly touch the ground for our master has put a new Spirit in us.

The next statement that God said to Moses that also made a great impact on me is the following statement, “And when he does, he will drive you out completely” To me last night God’s word simply said to me that this time you are not going to struggle to go free as you used to, but your problems and your challenges will actually get “rid of you” in as positive sense. They will never want to see you again. Because God will send a great frustration to the devil’s camp and your name shall be removed from the devil’s victims list and every demon in hell will be warned by satan himself to ‘have nothing to do with you ever again’ that is what Pharaoh himself will do in ensuring that you don’t just go free but that he makes sure that you are out of his sight.

This could be a period of being made untouchable by God. A period and a year of experiencing that power that made Moses and the Israelites to be feared all through the land and a period of being highly regarded as it says in verse 3.

Verse 4 reads as follows: So Moses said, “This is what the lord says: ‘About midnight I will go throughout Egypt. Every firstborn son in Egypt will die…
Now that we consider Egypt as symbolizing bondage to the children of God imagine what the first born of Egypt would signify. To me the first born signifies the strength and the pride of the spirit of bondage. Last night God went throughout your bondages, your sicknesses, your diseases, and all your frustrations and He killed all their strengths and their pride and that left Pharaoh, a symbol of satan wanting you out of his life ASAP!

Every promise of God is inherited by faith and today I wish to encourage you to reach out to God’s promises by faith. See yourself embracing His best for this year and hear Him say that it is well with you. The year that is behind us will never come around again but the year ahead of us is here to stay for the next 12 months. The best you can do today is to thank him for having gone throughout your Egypt about midnight and killing all the first born of whatever bound you and inconvenienced you.

There was a loud wailing in hell last night as our God challenged your challenges and competed with your competitors. But in our camps not even a dog was barking. Dogs are symbolic to curses and God declared that we shall never even hear the sound of a curse amongst us.
When they left Egypt it was roughly after midnight and you don’t get to see much during that time because of the darkness but when over a million people march through the desert surely you might not see them but you will definitely hear the rumblings of the hoofs of their animals, you will feel the ground shaking and you see the dust that rises up into the dark skies above their heads. They were carrying their little ones asleep in their arms and put their possessions on their donkeys, and talking to one another in hushed voices whilst glancing behind themselves to see if Pharaoh was not going to pursue them. But this was the night for their freedom and nothing was going to interfere with it. They were the “last dancing act” and the stage belonged to them. And by the time Pharaoh came his senses they were already standing at the banks of the read sea ready to do their first crossing over.

Be prepared to walk through the unknown wilderness that lies before you but know that God has released you from Egypt and He shall deliver you into Canaan. His hand is powerful enough to carry you and His mind is great enough to deliver you.
May this day begin a completely new era for you and your loved ones. [MVK]

Great words my brother, thank you! Yes there is still a Canaan for Gods people in the New Testament as written: God's promise of entering His rest still stands, so we ought to tremble with fear that some of you might fail to experience it. We know it is ready and the time for entering His rest, is today (Hebrews 4). I still remember some visits to your services where all the people from your church lifted me up into heaven by their singing and praises. That was a great and heavenly experience to me. Now I learned what the bible is saying about that experience (that Canaan): But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel (Hebrews 12:22-24). We are seated in heavenly places!
God bless you and yours this new year, keep up the good work and celebrate life.
