Prosperity begins when our task is to live for God and nothing else. Conclusion - MVK

One thing that I have learnt in life is that both prosperity and poverty don’t just happen but rather they are a result of laws obeyed or broken. Many years ago when I was a new believer I heard a preacher say that “If you are poor don’t worry because that is exactly what you are capable of’ I was almost offended but instead as a young man who was steadfast on seeking God’s laws of prosperity I heard him very well and started towards working to a better life.

I want us to look at the following scripture Deuteronomy 30:15-16 See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess. (NIV) This scripture has always challenged my way of believing in the word of God in its entirety, not only in the promises of prosperity but also of healing, deliverance and God’s intervention. We as Christians are supposed believe that God’s word is flawless and infallible or water tight. It is against His character to make promises that He cannot accomplish. And as a matter of fact there is nothing God cannot do. This must be the foundation of our faith in Him and His word. But then there is something else that we need to realize in the above scripture; God says “I set before you…” This is a sign of God’s total transparency towards us about his methods and ways of doing things. He promises to bless us in the land that we are living in on condition that we obey His laws and keep His commands. The first thing that makes it impossible for most people to be blessed by God is that God’s laws are not erected on street corners like road signs. If God’s laws were put up like traffic signs and the governments of the world were fully behind them just imagine how blessed every one would be. If you were given a $100 fine every time you broke God’s law you would have practiced not to break any of His laws. Our downfall as humans is simply based on our power of choice. God made us freewill beings. He simply recommends to us what to do and allow us to choose do it or not do it. This is our down fall. If God controlled us like robots our lives would be excellent in every way. The second problem we have is what I call a lack of desperation. People are not desperate enough for God to bless them. If we took all the time we have and every effort we normally put into trying to get Jobs etc and put that into looking at His word and how we could reach out to Him better we could have “broken through’ a while ago. One of my quotations goes something like this; ‘you can’t use God in an emergency because God likes relationships too’. Going to God and trying out His laws in an emergency has never produced positive results, especially for people who have known God long enough. It might produce results for new believers and those seeking God for the first time.

Have you ever noticed how ‘old Christians’ don’t always get results and how God comes through for new converts all the time? What causes this? Old Christians get used to the word and ways of God and lose the ‘touch’ of doing things according to God’s prescription, when on the other hand the new believers and total strangers to God’s laws believe him whole heartedly without a shadow of doubt. And sadly so they too, soon follow the trend and soon become ‘saved un believers’

The number three obstacle to walking in God’s promises of prosperity is caused by ‘the want to have’ If your interpretation of prosperity is ‘getting things’ you are most likely to be disappointed. Nobody taught me this but from the very first time I gave in Church I never expected anything in return. To me giving was and still is a way of thanking God for the things He gave me already. I have never had any motivation for giving other than this one, and God has in return given me more than I could have asked for had he given me a chance to do so. My needs are all known to Him therefore I see no reason why I should exalt them above His requirements. The bible says in the book of Micah 6:8 He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (NIV)

These are simple rules, God will never expect us to do things our way otherwise we’ll have to be our own masters. We must love the laws of God because they were made to enhance our lives and never to destroy them. As soon as we get to that point we will discover that our heavenly father has always been willing to give us all things to enjoy. The Bible says in Psalm 95:8-11 do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the desert, where your fathers tested and tried me, though they had seen what I did. For forty years I was angry with that generation; I said, "They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known my ways. So I declared on oath in my anger, "They shall never enter my rest." (NIV)
I thought to myself what would happen if we took God at His word and did all that He commands? Oh what a blessed generation we would be. Our children and their children would walk in the fullness of His divine provision. They shall become a generation that will never know what it is to walk in poverty, lack and want for theirs shall be a future paved with the highest honour from above. Go on, serve Him and trust Him your tomorrow shall definitely be better than your today. Amen. MVK

Yes. this is something to think about. it tells me there is no time to be lazy even in the kingdom. cause one may think if I accept Christ thats it. only to find out one have to constantly work out. Thanks for your continous inspiring messages, another thing I picked up is, is not wrong to be desperate for God.
