June 2010 Vacation- Work
Extended Public Works Programme

The City of Joburg is seeking 85 post matriculants to assist with the collection of data from the park and ride facilities during the 2010 FIFA World Cup event. The data will be used to conduct analysis of the carbon savings during the event as result of the park and ride initiative. Data collectors will be required to collect data from the vehicles parked at the facilities. These will include vehicle make, engine size and the type of fuel used among other things.

Candidates must:

1.Be in possession of a grade 12 certificate.
2.Have basic computer and numeracy skills, including basic understanding of Microsoft excel.
3.Have good verbal and written communication skills.
4.Be enthusiastic and willing to work.
5.Be between the ages of 20-35 years.

Some form of stipend will be provided per match. Data collection will run from the 11th of June 2010 to the 11th of July 2010.
